About the role

To support our continued growth in the United States, we are seeking a confident and scientifically skilled Application Specialist to join the business development and marketing team. In this dynamic role, you will play a critical part in demonstrating the value of our technology directly to customers. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-lab product demonstrations, delivering scientific presentations online, and providing expert training sessions—both onsite and virtually—on our full portfolio, which now includes both crystallization and reaction screening platforms. This is a remote position based in the U.S. and requires approximately 50% travel within the country. Additionally, you will travel to our headquarters in the Netherlands 2–3 times per year for training and team meetings.

You will report into the Global Head of Business Development and Marketing and collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Managers, supporting commercial efforts with scientific credibility and technical insight, helping researchers across the U.S. to unlock the full potential of our systems.

Education:

Minimum education level: MSc or PhD in chemistry, process chemistry, chemical engineering, solid state chemistry, biochemistry or similar.

Knowledge and Work experience:

  • At least two years of industry experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical research space.
  • Solid understanding of chemical synthesis, process chemistry, and/or crystallization-related research.
  • Significant experience with various analytical technologies and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical product development process.
  • Proven scientific writing skills, including experience with publications, application notes, scientific newsletters, and research reports.
  • Comfortable and confident presenting scientific content to a wide range of audiences, including customers, researchers, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, engaging product demonstrations and technical training, both online and in person.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into customer-relevant value propositions.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while independently managing time-sensitive projects with minimal supervision.

Tasks

  • Conduct in-lab and virtual product demonstrations to showcase the value of Technobis' crystallization and reaction screening platforms.
    Provide technical training and onboarding for new and existing customers, both onsite and online.
  • Support the Regional Sales Manager by delivering compelling scientific presentations that highlight the value proposition of Technobis instruments.
  • Identify customer needs and translate them into scientific solutions that align with Technobis' technology offerings.
  • Serve as a regional scientific expert for crystallization and reaction screening applications in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and academic sectors.
  • Develop and explore new applications and use cases for both established and emerging markets.
  • Support lead generation efforts by participating in onsite seminars, online webinars, and feasibility discussions.
  • Prepare and present technical content—including application notes, whitepapers, and conference presentations—to promote customer understanding and engagement.
  • Assist in the execution of global and regional marketing and educational programs, ensuring consistent and targeted messaging.
    Deliver post-sales support and advanced training, ensuring customer satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
  • Work closely with key accounts and industry consortia to develop new applications or contribute to new product development.
    Act as a bridge between customer insights and internal teams by transferring market feedback, application data, and trends to Product Management and R&D.
  • Traveling to the company headquarters in the Netherlands 2–3 times per year for training and team alignment.
  • Traveling (approximately 50%) within the United States to support customer engagements, attend meetings, and participate in conferences.
  • Be a passionate ambassador for Technobis technologies, creating excitement through knowledgeable and confident interactions with customers and stakeholders.
