Field Service Engineer

About the role

In this role, you are responsible for the technical product support for our crystallization and reaction screening systems. Specific focus is on providing technical support, preventive maintenance, and repairs to new, potential and existing customers in the solid-state and process chemistry research world. You will support the service team for technical installation and commissioning, as well assist the distributors with technical questions.

To strengthen our team we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Field Service Engineer. This function requires a genuine technical interest in both the systems' applications, as well in the delicate hardware of this high-tech equipment, combined with organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Willing to travel is a must!

Your profile

Educational attainment:
  • BSc in Applied Science / Bachelor with Technical background. Or an MLO diploma with several years of laboratory experience or an MBO diploma in the electrical or mechanical field.
Knowledge and work experience:
  • At least 2 year experience in a Customer Service or (customer) related work field.
  • Familiar with quality systems.
  • Experience working with and/or installation of research equipment is a pre.
  • Good written and verbal expression in the English language, additional languages are an advantage.

Responsabilities

Customer service
  • Act as the first line support for customers, troubleshooting both hardware and software, on site and over the phone/email.
  • Set up and maintain service concepts for the Systems.
  • Follow up contracts and extensions of contracts, quotations and SOP’s.
  • Coordinate questions and feedback from customers that arrive via different sources (e-mail accounts etc) and update the General Manager.
  • Work with the application management CRM module of Technobis to store data.
  • Build knowledge and maintains knowledge in a structured way.
Quality and safety
  • Constantly strive to work safely in the laboratory and proactively help to maintain a high safety standard overall. This includes a complete registration and precise documentation of all lab related activities according to Technobis standards.
  • Recognize and alert QA and his/her line management when non-conformities occur.
Technology development
  • Contribute to new technology developments both in the generation of ideas as well as translate the info received from the customer’s site into new ideas.
  • Act as a project team member in technology development projects for testing and application development.
Installation process
  • Install equipment of parts hereof at customer‘s site in Europe, USA and/or Asia.
  • Define and agree with relevant Technobis experts on the test program for testing during built and installation.
