About the role
This function requires a genuine technical interest in both the application as well as the delicate hardware of our high-tech equipment, combined with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
In this role, your main focus is supporting technical client questions. As part of this process, you will address case reports either directly or, when necessary, manage the right internal departments to support and communicate with the client.
This role is based in Alkmaar, The Netherlands.

Your profile
Education:
BSc in Applied Science with technical background, or an electrical or mechanical MBO diploma, with several years’ experience in installing and maintaining of high-tech equipment.
Knowledge and Work experience:
- At least 2 years experience in a Customer Service or (customer) related work field
- Experience in installing Software and configuring PCs
- Great customer awareness
- Good knowledge of problem analysis methods
- A high level of creativity and a result-oriented way of working
- Experience working with and/or installation of research equipment is a pre
- Strong communication skills and good written and verbal expression in the English language, additional languages are an advantage
- Can-do mentality, no 9-5 mentality
- Excellent team-player attitude in product development environment, with strong motivation, drive and communication capabilities (critical yet positive attitude)
- Has strong planning and problem solving skills with flexible attitude and is able to operate efficiently in a dynamic and international environment
Responsibilities:
First line support:
- Providing support and troubleshooting of issues for application and product related customer/distributor questions by telephone and/or e-mail
- Coordination and answering customer questions
- Pro-active resolving technical issues on all disciplines, e.g. mechanically, electrical, software, application etc.
- Fast turnaround and accurate administration of Customer issues is critical
Technical in-house Support:
- Support with systems configuration software and perform quality tests before shipment
- Support R&D team in testing and validate new improvements
- Maintenance of the Demo systems or Client systems send to Alkmaar
Contribute to departmental & Customer Service improvements:
- Gather customer and distributer feedback and communicate this effectively within the team to further develop and improve our systems
- Continues improve the different procedures for customer support, complain handling, order handling, technical instructions and documentation etc.
Miscellaneous activities:
- Flexible maintenance or installation visit as back up of the Field Service Team
